Traumatic Brain Injury ( TBI )
A traumatic brain injury ( TBI )
can be a life-altering experience.
TBI
has long-term consequences and may cause enduring physical, emotional,
intellectual, and social changes for survivors and their families. It is not
specific to any one socioeconomic, cultural, or ethnic class. It can happen to
individuals of any gender and at any age.
The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services ( ADRS )
is proud to serve as the state's lead agency for coordination of services for
Alabamians with
TBI .
Through its comprehensive array of agency programs and other public and private
partners,
ADRS
can meet many needs. Services may include, but are not limited to, information
and referral, educational assistance, pre-vocational resources, employment
assistance, and extended support provision.
ADRS
continues to investigate the changing needs of consumers in an effort to
